About Muncy Winds

Muncy Winds Music Was founded by Philip Muncy in 1987 growing out of Muncy Musical Instrument Repair in Denton, Texas. Philip was a clarinet performance major at the University of North Carolina School of the Performing Arts with renowned clarinetist Robert Listokin. Philip later studied Musical Instrument Technology at the State University of New York at Morrisville. With more than ten years experience in musical instrument repair the launch into retail in 1987 was implemented as way to better serve our clients needs. In 1992 Muncy Winds Music relocated to Boone, NC. Our goal continues to be one of serving not selling.

Muncy Winds Music does not try to do it all. We specialize in the highest quality instruments and equipment for wind musicians at an affordable price. We have developed and manufacture a number of Muncy Products including clarinet barrels, reed caddy’s, reeds, and many other accessories. Muncy Winds will continue to develop and provide new products when we see that it is helpful to the musician’s success.

We give back too. Our goal is to give a substantial amount of our profit in support of sustainable social justice organizations. We have supported organizations providing clean water, promotion of international fair trade, solutions to homelessness in the US, and many other needs. Our goal is to increase the percentage of our profits given each year to sustainable solutions where the greatest needs be.

We appreciate our long time supporters as well as our newest supporters. Please feel free to let us know how we may help you today and in the future.
