A JAVA with even more wood.

Thicker tip than the traditional Vandoren reeds and a longer cut.

Sound: more brilliant, more percussive, particularly well adapted to all the new styles of music

Phil WOODS:

Nelson Hill gave me a Vandoren V16! He said, Try it, you'll like it. I tried it. I like it! Eureka! At last, a sensible reed! They feel good and the percentage of usable reeds is incredible. Somebody is paying attention and I sleep a little better knowing that! The base is thicker giving my old, stretched ligature a better grip and the intonation, always a Vandoren tradition, remains true and spot on!

These reeds are made in Argentina from cane grown in Argentina. Superb sound quality. 10 Reeds per box.

Unprecedented Tone, Flexibility and Response.

The D'Addario Select Jazz cut features a strong, well-defined heart and longer vamp, yielding unprecedented projection and a clear, fat tone, with unsurpassed flexibility and lightning-fast response. Available with or without a French file. The file is the area behind the vamp where the bark is sanded off in a straight line. It provides freedom of response, especially in the low register, making soft attacks and subtones easier. The file also makes the tone slightly brighter.

Features Include:

* Huge sound with powerful projection

* Select grade cane for unsurpassed durability & longevity

* Outstanding clarity, control and projection

* Precise third strength grading provides unparalleled consistency

* Optimized for contemporary and traditional jazz mouthpieces

Box of 5.

Quality, Consistency and Flexibility

Designed for a wide variety of playing situations, Rico Royal is a high-quality reed for serious saxophone and clarinet players, yet is priced affordability to meet the needs of both professionals and students. French filed for freedom of response, especially in the low register, adding clarity to the tone and making soft attacks easier. Strengths 2-4. 10 Reeds per box.
Frederick L. Hemke reeds provide the dark tone favored by many classical and traditional jazz saxophonists. The design is especially well-suited to traditional, round-chambered mouthpieces.
