Description

A JAVA with even more wood.

Thicker tip than the traditional Vandoren reeds and a longer cut.

Sound: more brilliant, more percussive, particularly well adapted to all the new styles of music

Phil WOODS:

Nelson Hill gave me a Vandoren V16! He said, Try it, you’ll like it. I tried it. I like it! Eureka! At last, a sensible reed! They feel good and the percentage of usable reeds is incredible. Somebody is paying attention and I sleep a little better knowing that! The base is thicker giving my old, stretched ligature a better grip and the intonation, always a Vandoren tradition, remains true and spot on!

The favorite reed of classic saxophonists worldwide since Marcel MULE, it has always been (and is still) used with equal success by many players.

Quality, Maximum Flexibility, Value

High quality reeds designed for a wide variety of playing situations, Rico Reeds are cut of our most flexible grade of cane. The ease of play, affordable price and convenient packaging options are why more professional and music educators worldwide find Rico the best value. 25 Reeds per box.

Working with the legendary Jazz saxophone genius, Michael Brecker, the result is a new reed made with our same high grade S. France cane - a model which would add a new and different dimension to the tonal universe of our reeds.

The Alexander NY model features a redesigned tip and profile which produces a big and bold sound, full response throughout the registers and the type of vibrant, solid tone traditionally associated with that of the New York music scene.

The tip is somewhat harder than Superial DC which gives it a sustaining power, especially in the high end of the h

Unprecedented Tone, Flexibility and Response.

The D'Addario Select Jazz cut features a strong, well-defined heart and longer vamp, yielding unprecedented projection and a clear, fat tone, with unsurpassed flexibility and lightning-fast response. French filed. The file is the area behind the vamp where the bark is sanded off in a straight line. It provides freedom of response, especially in the low register, making soft attacks and subtones easier. The file also makes the tone slightly brighter.

Features Include:

* Huge sound with powerful projection

* Select grade cane for unsurpassed durability & longevity

* Outstanding clarity, control and projection

* Precise third strength grading provides unparalleled consistency

* Optimized for contemporary and traditional jazz mouthpieces

This ALL NEW JAZZ reed features a unique relationship between the heart of the reed, where the tone is produced, and the thickness of the tip, which is responsible for vibration. The result is a reed with extraordinary tone, with immediate response in a free-blowing manner  even in the altissimo range.
